Eurovision Songcontest
In the near future it will happen.
The 2006 Eurovision Songcontest.
The WHAT?
The E.S. is a contest where an artist from each European country performs a boring, awkward, copied song and all around Europe (and in Australia) there are people watching this show, voting for their favourite.
In the good old times there had been the condition that the artists had to perform in the language of their country, but since this could be a really cruel act, now nearly everyone sings in English.
Before the E.S. can take place there has to be an innernational competition between the poor guys whose mangagers force them to reactivate themselves for this event.
In the last few years there were always about 10 different bands awaiting the "Go", and it were mostly comedians or really awkward entertainers who won the national competition.
This year (the man in charge of the national competition had been fired before) only three bands made their stand:
Thomas Anders, former bandmember of the 80's band "Blue System", until Dieter Bohlen pulled the plug...
He is living in the same town like me, and I have seen him in his boxers once, but that's a different story.
To make it short: He should not be allowed to sing.
Vicky Leandros, a greek singer, who had left her mid-fifties a long time ago, presenting a terrible song with her ferocious voice, but with a skin like a teen (where did that come from?).
And last but not least "Texas Lightning" around the comedian "Olli Dittrich" with the great Australian singer "Icantrememberhername" performing an awesome country song.
Yes, that's our heroes for the Eurovision Songcontest 2006.
Congratulations

When did the Germans win the Eurovision last. I can't remember it's always seems to be the Irish that win it. It's that Hard German accent which is the problems with your singers.
no offense
1982 Nicole won the award with her song about peace "Ein bisschen Frieden".
That was in Harrogate, G.B..
B.t.w., Germany, G.B., France and Spain are the 4 countries which contribute the most money to the contest, so they don't have to qualify.
I think, noone wants to risk a little war against the men-of-steel as Kent would call us.
And you're right, Ireland is the most successful country with unbelievable 7 victories thanks to Johnny Logan (And Kent: Don't tell me, he is Canadian!).
And Marty, I am still trying to find out, what is better: Crrrristalclearrrr Connnsonnnannntsss andd a ssssomewhatttt harrrrrrrrrrrd accennttttt, or irshstw, whch vn ntvspkrs dn't ndrstnd. :)
Hahahahahahaha. Zing!!!
Seems like the most ridiculous contest ever. Seriously NOT outstanding.
What does the winner get?

Hey guys!
I´m going to try and watch the contest over the internet here in Tokyo.
I´m dreading the digital difficulties but my plan is to invite some nerdy IT Europeans to watch it with me and let them handle it.
I CAN´T WAIT to see the German band. Looks awesome.
Lots of love, Nina :D
Oh, you should've seen what thay've done with the pre-Eurosong contest in Serbia and Montenegro! ("in my country..." :) ) They've almost started a civil war over a partial approach of the judges. :) In the end, the've decided not to send anyone to the main event.
We have an awesome entry this year.
My favorite Tv star is going to take home the win... finally!
